I really like the word "transient". When I came across it, I just started saying out loud, curious as to how it is actually pronounced. Then I wondered what the word meant. It turns out, you say it as "tran-shunt" and it means temporary, as in it doesn't last. Interesting, but sad.
Heh, it's because of my region of the country, but I always say it tran-zee-uhnt with a big drawl on the end. Your way sounds more sophisticated. :-P
